The Yoddha have faced Bengal Warriors once and it ended in Bengal’s favour. This time, the two teams gear up for the second face-off and Yoddha will be determined to turn things around against the Warriors. Yoddha will start their Bengaluru leg with the fixture, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday.
Their raiders
The Bengal raiders have massively contributed in the team’s excellent run this season. Maninder Singh, almost synonymous to the Warriors side now, has been at his consistent best and is leading the side with experience. Though Mohammad Nabibaksh impressed everyone with his stunning show towards the beginning of the tournament, he has not been as consistence. The third raider to watch out for is K Prapanjan, who has scored at a rate of almost 7 points per match.
Our defenders, just like the previous season, have been consistent and impressive with their moves. Nitesh entered the competition as one of the best defenders, which prevented the opponent raiders to raid to their left. This brought up quite some pressure on our left corner Sumit, who utilised the opportunity to emerge as one of the most successful defenders of the season. Apart from the two corners, Ashu has been handy at cover. With our defense being in form, it will be a great contest between the two teams.
Their defenders
One defender who has had a meteoric rise in this season is Rinku Narwal of Bengal Warriors. Placed at left corner, Narwal’s lethal dashes has taken down plenty of top-rated raiders. Up against him will be our star from the previous match, Shrikant, who is a left raider.
The other corner is protected by Baldev Singh, who had registered seven tackle points in our previous encounter. Apart from these two, the Warriors camp boasts of an experienced Jeeva Kumar as their cover.
With injury concerns and concerns over availability of both Monu and Rishank, a lot will depend upon Shrikant as well as a young Surender Gill. Both the raiders have stepped up to take charge whenever needed and will be expected to continue the same way. Apart from these two, Mohsen Magsoudloujafari and Surender Singh also serve as options as raiders.
