It is time for our Yoddha to put up an inspirational performance after a strenuous home-leg, and the Yoddha know that well! As the ProKabaddi 2018 caravan moves to the city of dreams, Mumbai, our Yoddha dream of a fresh start against hosts U Mumba on Tuesday at the Dome@NSCI SVP Stadium. With the scintillating form the Mumbai team is in, Yoddha will have to tie all the loose ends to bag a victory.
A quick look
U Mumba have been that one team who ticked all the right boxes to become one of the strongest contenders for the ProKabaddi title this season. From the best raider to the best defender so far, U Mumba are armoured and well-prepared with effective weapons. Our task will be to play mindfully, using their power against them with the help of our talent pool.
Their defenders
Despite a great start, our raiders have not been in the best of their form of late, but the Tuesday clash is one occasion where they will have to bounce back to their purest, as U Mumba has some of the best defenders in the league. The first name that comes to mind is that of their captain – Iranian wall, Fazel Atrachali, who has been closely contesting for the Orange Sleeve to emerge as the most successful defender. Our trident attack of Rishank, Prashanth and Shrikant will have to shine, to remain on top in the game.
Their raiders
Siddharth Desai spearheads U Mumba’s raiding contingent and has displayed top-class action to claim the top spot in the list of most successful raiders this season. However, we would pin our hopes on Nitesh Kumar, who usually aims for opponent’s main man – holding them back with his strong ankle-holds and thigh-holds. He will be hungry to go past Atrachali to reclaim his Orange Sleeve as he trails just 3 points behind and has an average tackle per match rate beyond 3. To help him are the experienced and dependable Jeeva and Narender. Another player to watch out for will be Sachin, who has so far been a surprise package.
Story so far
U Mumba are the top team in the Zone A points table at the moment while we have occupied the third place in the Zone B table.
Head to Head
