After a break-through win against the Haryana Steelers in their previous fixture, our Yoddha are determined to maintain their form as they head to face the hosts Telugu Titans in their next match. The face off will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Vizag on Tuesday.
A Quick Look
Struggling with injuries of marquee players in ProKabaddi 2018, Yoddha stayed off colour for quite some time before putting up a commendable fight and snatching victory from the Haryana Steelers. However, the Titans are in a good form and are one of the strongest contenders to make it to the playoffs this year. Winning two of their three home-games so far, our opponents must be brimming with confidence and breaking through that will not be an easy job.
Their Defenders
The two cover defenders Anuj Kumar and Anil Kumar hold the key to the success of the Titans’ defense, and it is further strengthened by the presence of the Irani duo of Farhad Milaghardan and Abozar Mighani. Captain Vishal Bharadwaj, though an all-rounder, has helped majorly in the defense as well. To combat them, our raiders will have to make cautious moves to steal points. Shrikant has bounced back into his consistency and will definitely be depended upon the do-or-die raids alongside Prashanth Kumar Rai. If completely fit, our skipper Rishank will play a vital part in earning most of the points. Also, a surprise package lies in the team in form of Sachin.
Their Raiders
Leading the points charts for the Titans is their dependable raider Rahul Chaudhari. Though he has scored a Super 10 against us in our first meeting of the season, our defenders – Jeeva, Narender, Nitesh – learned how to tame him and let him gather only 3 points in our 26-point tie in the next. We’ll have to up the ante further to convert that into a victory this time!
Story so far
The Titans are at the third position in the Zone B points table right now while the Yoddha are at No. 6.
