After a victory that restored confidence in the U.P. Yoddha camp, the players gear up to face Haryana Steelers in their next fixture of ProKabaddi 2019, at the EKA Arena, TransStadia to finish off their Ahmedabad leg.
Their raiders
After missing out on the first few matches, Vikas Kandola came back in the Steelers’ squad and has been in the form expected of him. The raider has been consistent, picking up 10 raid points on an average in the three matches that he has played. He will be the raider our defenders will seek to take down. Naveen, who led the raiding contingent in absence of Kandola, has been playing as second fiddle, with Vinay being the third raider.
Kandola, who usually starts his raids from left, will face our captain Nitesh who showed off his skills with gusto against the Bulls in our previous match. At the other end, Sumit will be defending the lines and would again aim for yet another high-five performance. Our defenders will be determined to produce a similar performance yet again to support the raiders.
Their defenders
The Steelers have tried many combinations in their defence line. While they boast of an experienced Vikas Kale and Sunil in the right cover and corner positions respectively, the left looks a relatively weaker side. The left defenders have not been consistent, which opens up possibilities for our left raider Shrikant to grab points. Shrikant put up an exceptional performance in the previous match with the experienced Monu showing his mettle. If Rishank comes back in the attack, our raiding trio will look complete and hungry.
Monu, who has been a part of the Steelers previously, knows the team well and can use his experience against them. Also, the fact that Yoddha had beaten the Steelers in their last meeting may help them gather more confidence as they get onto the mat for the action.
