With breakthrough performance and an 8-match unbeaten streak, UP Yoddha are confident as they take on Gujarat Fortune Giants in Qualifier 2 of ProKabaddi 2018. To be played at Dome, NSCI SVP Stadium, Mumbai, this match will be our last chance to reach our maiden final of the league.
A Quick Look
The Fortune Giants have been one of the most consistent sides in this season of ProKabaddi and beating them will not be cakewalk. However, Yoddha have shown their caliber, by taking down experienced teams like U Mumba and Dabang Delhi K.C. and will be brimming with confidence. Though the Fortune Giants have shown some brilliant performances, a perfect blend of youth and experience is something that our Yoddha can boast of and come really handy as we proceed to the mega battle.
Their Defenders
Captain Sunil Kumar is the most consistent defender in the Fortune Giants squad, who will take the right cover, creating obstacles for our left-raiders Shrikant and Prashanth. Both have been in an impressive form. Prashanth has shown his skills in stealing intelligent bonus points which he will have to continue, being cautious of Sunil. Challenge for Rishank, our captain and right-raider, in form of left cover Parvesh Bhainswal and left corner Ruturaj Koravi. While Koravi has constantly brought points for his team, Bhainswal has not been able to deliver his best in the last few matches – a fact that Rishank can build upon to create further pressure. We will also wait for the sudden, point-fetching raids of Sachin to add more to the scoreboard.
Their Raiders
Sachin Tanwar has been Fortune Giants’ raiding nucleus. With an average of over 8 raiding points per match, he will be the man to keep in check for our defenders. Along with him, K Prapanjan and Dong Geon Lee have also been effective in the league. However, the advantage lies with us, as we have one of the best defenses in ProKabaddi 2018 so far. Nitesh, who has been indomitable and is eyeing to complete 100 tackle points, will be our star as we play for our spot in the final. He will find support from veteran Jeeva and the strong duo of Sachin and Narender.
Story So Far
With impeccable performance throughout the season, Fortune Giants had reached Qualifier 1, where they were tamed by Bengaluru Bulls. We defeated U Mumba and Dabang Delhi K.C. in Eliminator 1 and Eliminator 3 respectively to reach Qualifier 2.
