Having drawn with the Bengal Warriors on our previous encounter, we, UP Yoddha, will now look to level up on them with a victory as we play the third home-game of ProKabaddi 2018 at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, Greater NOIDA. Though we have had a couple of disappointing results recently, our performance last night against Bengaluru Bulls have us pumped up for the next fixture.
A quick look
Having played two matches, both Rishank and Jeeva have got their mojo back to deliver a top-notch show in the third match of the home leg. Combined with the powerful performance of Shrikant, Prashanth and Nitesh, our Yoddha look all set to put a smile on the faces of the home crowd.
Their Defenders
Bengal captain Surjeet Singh leads their defense as the right cover, with Baldev Singh securing the right corner. Though both have added their bit of contributions so far, there has been a lack of consistency for the defense. The defense gets another boost from all-rounder Shrikant Tewthia who has scored quite a few tackle points. But we are confident of our Shrikant outwitting their Shrikant, and the experience of Rishank and Prashanth coming into play to break through their wall of defense.
Their Raiders
While Jang Kun Lee has been Bengal’s consistent performer, Maninder Singh has dominated this season so far, with a high rate of raid points and consistency. Mahesh Goud, too, has been impressing. Jeeva, Nitesh and the rest of the defense will have to take extra caution of these three to keep Bengal from scoring.
Story so far
Winning three of our nine matches, we have secured the third place in the Zone B points table, while Bengal are at fifth position with equal number of victories.
Head to Head
UP Yoddha 0-2 Bengal Warriors (2 Tied)
