U.P. Yoddhas - owned by the GMR Group - settled for a second consecutive draw in Pro Kabaddi Season 9 with a 41-41 stalemate against Bengal Warriors at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi in Pune on Tuesday, November 8.
Powered by captain Pardeep Narwal's sheer brilliance in the opening minutes of the match, U.P. Yoddhas inflicted the first All-Out in the fourth minute.
The Yoddhas kept raging on and effected another All-Out in the 13th minute to take a massive lead at 20-7. Despite the efforts of Bengal Warriors' captain Maninder Singh to trim the early deficit, U.P. Yoddhas ended the first half with a 25-15 lead thanks to Rohit Tomar's important raids.
The second half, however, saw the Warriors show renewed confidence on the mat by inflicting an All-Out on the Yoddhas in the 24th minute.
Maninder Singh's raid and Manoj Gowda's tackle on Pardeep Narwal played an important role in the Warriors reducing the deficit to six points at 26-32. A 30th-minute Super Raid from Deepak Hooda set the tone for Bengal Warriors to effect an All-Out. The score read 34-33 in favour of the Yoddhas.
The Warriors took the lead for the first time in the game in the 36th minute, and thereafter, Maninder Singh's stupendous Super Raid in the 38th minute helped his team take a three-point lead at 40-37.
Just as the Warriors were at the cusp of victory with a 41-40 scoreline, U.P. Yoddhas tackled Maninder Singh in his Do-Or-Die raid to see the game end in a hard-fought 41-41 draw.
