After a dominant performance against the Jaipur Pink Panthers, the Yoddha are left with a whole lot of confidence to pull up their socks and get into the race for qualification as they head to meet Dabang Delhi K.C. in their upcoming fixture of ProKabaddi 2019. The hosts have started their home leg at the Thyagraj Sports Complex, Delhi with a win over Bengaluru Bulls, while Yoddha look well synchronised to hand them a defeat.
Their raiders
The Dabang raiding contingent is led by an extremely consistent Naveen Kumar, who currently holds the second position in the tally of leading points-scorer this ProKabaddi season. Featuring in all eight of Delhi’s matches, Naveen has scored at an average of 11 raid points per match and has delivered Super-10 performances in seven matches. Naveen, who is a natural right raider, would aim for swift toe-touches to our left corner Sumit and cover Amit. However, Sumit has been one of the most impressive defenders this season, with successful attempts of double thigh holds and ankle holds to tackle him down. With Ashu Singh from right cover coming in with powerful dashes and blocks, Naveen can be trapped while seeking points deep in the mat.
The other crucial raider in the Delhi side is an experienced Chandran Ranjit who is playing the perfect foil to Naveen. Ranjit, who loves to raid to his left, however, lacks speed, and will face our skipper and ankle-hold specialist Nitesh during his raids.
Their defenders
One name which is synonymous to Daband Delhi’s defense is that of The Hawk, Ravinder Pahal. Playing as the right corner, he will have a face-off with Shrikant Jadhav, who has had some good games on the trot. Shrikant would want to bank on the lack of consistency of Pahal, but will have to be careful of this particular defender.
A major concern for Delhi has been the worrying form of captain and left corner Joginder Narwal. This opens door for our able right raider – Rishank, Monu and also Surender Gill, who showed his prowess against the Panthers. However, they will have to be careful about the sudden, powerful dashes of right cover Vishal Mane.
