Telugu Yoddhas, the GMR owned franchisee representing the Telugu speaking region of the country, displayed their class today by taking the top spot on the Ultimate Kho Kho League points table with a confident win of 12 points over Mumbai Khiladis. Telugu Yoddhas defeated Mumbai Khiladis 55-43, their fourth win in the league so far and are now placed on the top of the points table with 12 points.
Rohan Singhade of Telugu Yoddhas won the ‘Best Attacker’ award while Sachin Bhargo with his all-round performance won the ‘Best Kho of the Match’ award for Telugu Yoddhas.
The game began with Mumbai Khiladis opting to defend after winning the toss, however, Telugu Yoddhas drew first blood with a pole dive and thereafter continued their momentum bagging the 3-pointers with ease. The first Turn of the game saw Telugu Yoddhas earning 18 points through 3 Pole Dives and as many numbers of Sky Dives. Sachin Bhargo, today playing as the Wazir, showcased his exemplary acrobatic skills in helping Telugu Yoddhas wrapping up Turn 1 with a huge lead of 26-0.
Turn 2 which saw Telugu Yoddhas defending, was another showcase of their overall balance and strength as Avdhut Patil earned a very crucial 2 points from a Dream Run. Mumbai Khiladis, made an effort to come back in the game but couldn’t sustain their efforts for long. Turn 2 of the game came to an end with the score line reading 28-20 to Telugu Yoddhas' favour.
Telugu Yoddhas, notched up 23 points in Turn 3, however, they also gave away 4 crucial Dream Run points to Mumbai Khiladis. Turn 3 came to an end with the score line still in the favour of Telugu Yoddhas at 51-24.
Turn 4 saw Mumbai Khiladis, fire up with an effort to match up to the 27 point deficit, but Telugu Yoddhas were not only agile and fast but also displayed great strategy, as their captain Prajwal K H and Sachin Bhargo ensured four very important Dream Run points to their kitty. The match came to an end with Telugu Yoddhas notching up a 55-43 win over Mumbai Khiladis.
