Telugu Yoddhas, the GMR Group owned franchisee crushed Rajasthan Warriors 83-45 in a one-sided game of the inaugural season of the Ultimate Kho Kho, played at Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. The 12th match of the season between Telugu Yoddhas and Rajasthan Warriors saw Telugu Yoddhas, the team representing Telugu speaking region creating history by not only becoming the first team to reach 80+ points in the first season of the Ultimate Kho Kho but also inflicted 2 Full on Chase in a single game. Sachin Bhargo who played ‘Wazir’ today was awarded with the ‘Best Attacker’ of the match whereas ‘Best Defender’ award was bagged by Arun Gunki. Avdhut Patil who was splendid on the mat was awarded as the “Best Kho of the Match”. Telugu Yoddhas with 9 points are placed 2nd in the league standing.
Warriors opted to Defend after winning the toss. Telugu Yoddhas got going from the first moment ousting Rajasthan Warriors all the 4 batches of Defenders (12 Defenders) through an exemplary display of acrobatic skills including six Sky Dives and two Pole Dives, Telugu Yoddhas dominantly led the scoresheet by 38-0 with the end of Turn 1.
The Turn 2 saw Warriors earning touch points quickly through their Attackers and tried to stage a comeback, however, Telugu Yoddhas Defenders challenged them a tough competition on the mat. Arun Gunki who not only earned four crucial points with the help of a single ‘Dream Run’ but also once again showcased his skills with the support of his teammate, Avdhut who too completed his Dream Run in this turn. Scorecard read 44-24 favoring Telugu Yoddhas.
Another majestic performance by Telugu Yoddhas came from Turn 3 by inflicting a second ‘All-out’ of the match on Warriors. Bringing down all the four Batches of 12 Defenders (3 from each batch) to earn 3 extra points. Telugu Yoddhas completed 2nd ‘Full on Chase’ of the game with the help of six Sky Dives and 1 Pole dive and from there the lead was far from the reach for Warriors. The Turn ended with a score of 79-24 in Telugu Yoddhas' favour.
With the start of Turn 4, the Defenders of Yoddhas showcased their skills and ability. Rajasthan Warriors who trailed way behind their opponent were never close to the score and Telugu Yoddhas took the advantage of this. Avdhut who completed Dream Run in the 2nd Turn, earned 4 points through another single Dream Run in the 4th Turn and this sealed Telugu Yoddhas win who completed this Turn with the final score reading 83-45.
