The Dubai Capitals are set to play the opening fixture of the inaugural International League T20 against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders on January 13, 2023.
The Capitals - owned by the GMR Group - will play 10 games in the group stage, where they will face the other five competing teams twice.
Dubai Capitals are scheduled to play six games at their home venue, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
West Indian all-rounder Rovman Powell will lead the team in the ILT20 campaign in 2023, with Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka as his deputy.
Furthermore, former Indian cricket stars Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan will don the Dubai Capitals jersey in the International League T20. The pair, who retired from all forms of cricket in India earlier in 2022, are the first Indian cricketers to be signed by an ILT20 franchise.
The other notable players who will play for the Dubai Capitals franchise are Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe), Joe Root (England), Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan), and George Munsey (Scotland).
